Hyaluronidase acts as a depolymerizing agent for glycosaminoglycans and as a diffusing agent.

Hyaluronidase hydrolyzes hyaluronic acid by cleaving the bond between C1 of the glucosamine molecule and C4 of glucuronic acid.

This mechanism temporarily decreases the viscosity of the intercellular cement and promotes the diffusion of active ingredients.
